The NEET MDS 2025 counselling process officially commenced on June 24, 2025, under the supervision of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The counselling is being conducted in multiple rounds to fill MDS seats across dental colleges in India under the All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota.

Round 1 of NEET MDS 2025 counselling is currently ongoing, with registration open from June 24 to June 30, 2025. Candidates can submit their choices from June 25 to June 30, and the choice locking facility will be available on June 30 (between 4:00 PM and 11:55 PM). Following this, the Round 1 seat allotment result will be announced on July 3, 2025, and shortlisted candidates must report to their allotted institutes between July 4 and July 8, 2025.

Only candidates who cleared the NEET MDS 2025 exam held on May 15—with 16,225 qualifiers out of 29,220 applicants—are eligible for the counselling process. The AIQ 50% Merit List was published by NBE, featuring eligible candidates by roll number and application ID. Individual scorecards for the AIQ quota were made available on May 24, 2025.

The MCC has outlined a total of four rounds of counselling, expected to continue until August 30, 2025, with the possibility of additional rounds based on vacancy status.

To register for Round 1 counselling and participate in MDS seat allotment, candidates must visit the official MCC portal and complete the registration process within the specified timeline.

NEET MDS 2025 Counselling: Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the NEET MDS 2025 counselling process, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Educational Qualification: Must have completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a college recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
• NEET MDS Exam: Must have appeared for and qualified the NEET MDS 2025 examination.
• Internship Completion: Must have completed a one-year compulsory rotatory internship by the last week of June 2025.

NEET MDS 2025 Cutoff

Candidates must score equal to or above the NEET MDS 2025 cutoff marks to be eligible for the counselling rounds. The cutoff is released category-wise by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

NEET MDS 2025 Counselling Process

Step-by-Step Counselling Procedure:

• 100% seats are filled through MCC counselling.
• NRI quota available in Deemed Universities.
• No category-based reservation (except institutional minority status if applicable).
• Documents required to convert Indian to NRI category must be submitted as per MCC notice.

Central University MDS Admission (DU, AMU, BHU)

• 50% AIQ + 50% Institutional Quota
• DU internal quota: BDS from DU
• AMU internal quota: BDS from AMU
• BHU internal quota: BDS from IMS-BHU

Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS)

• Priority-based seat allotment (Priority III to V)
• Final admission after medical examination at allotted AFMS institute
