Supreme Court Directs Transfer of All CLAT 2025 Petitions to Delhi High Court for Resolution

The Supreme Court’s decision to centralize all petitions concerning the CLAT 2025 results in the Delhi High Court aims to streamline the legal process and bring clarity to the ongoing challenges. The Court’s directive to move all petitions from various high courts, including those in Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, and Karnataka, is expected to speed up the resolution of these cases.

The petitioners argue that certain questions in the CLAT 2025 exam, held on December 1, 2024, were incorrect, which has led to disputes over the results. The results of the examination were declared on December 7, 2024, but several candidates have raised concerns about the fairness of the test. The claims suggest discrepancies in the wording or content of some questions, potentially affecting the candidates’ performance.

With the Supreme Court’s decision to transfer all cases to the Delhi High Court, the legal proceedings will be consolidated. The Delhi High Court is set to hear these cases on March 3, 2025, in front of a Division Bench. This will ensure that all challenges to the exam results are heard in one forum, providing a more efficient way to address the concerns of the petitioners.

The Supreme Court has also emphasized that the necessary documents from the various high courts be sent to the Delhi High Court within a week. This will ensure that the Division Bench in Delhi has all the required information before the hearing in March.

The outcome of these cases could have significant implications for the future of the CLAT and its procedures, particularly in terms of how questions are formulated and reviewed before the exam. As the legal proceedings continue, candidates, educational institutions, and legal experts will be watching closely for the resolution of these challenges.
